Rockin' Sound Unit

My best selling unit on TpT is my States of Matter Unit. Many teachers have purchased this unit and have had much success with it in their classroom. I contribute this to my "hands-on" approach to teaching Science. I think a lot of teachers like using hands-on activities in their classroom, but don't really know where to start.

Teachers have sent me emails requesting more Science units. I am slowly but surely getting those up. I posted a Sound mini-unit late last night. I call this a mini-unit because the unit isn't complete like my States of Matter unit. This sound unit has lots of hands-on activities and ideas, but does not contain a study guide and final assessment for the unit. It's just not comprehensive.

Check out this unit! I think your kids will love the sound centers in which this kids learn about the principles of sound through hands-on experiences.

Freebies and More!

Hey blogger friends! I am sorry that I have not posted in a little bit. I have had a tough week. My sweet dog, Drake, that we have had for over nine years was hit by a car last weekend. He was certainly my baby and I miss him more than you can EVER imagine!

To keep my mind off our loss, I have been working on posting materials like a mad woman! I have two freebies for you and a new character traits lesson.

The first freebie I have for you is an edible rocks lab. Your kiddos will absolutely love this! This lesson will give your kids a concrete visual for how rocks are form. And tell me, what kid doesn't like to eat? I promise this lesson will be a great addition to your rock unit. Click on the picture below to go to mt TpT store and download this for your classroom.

Another freebie that I have for you is a comparing decimals game. I kind of came up with this as a spur of the moment activity on Friday. My kids loved it! Comparing decimals is so not fun! Click on the picture below to take you to this freebie!

Around Christmas time, I created a unit on character traits using the book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This unit was VERY popular and I received several emails and requests to create more character traits units similar to this one that was not holiday centered. Unfortunately, I was not inspired to create anything. :( I tried and I just could not come up with anything. Well, the other night I was laying in bed, and this lesson just kind of popped into my head. It is very similar to my Christmas Character Traits Unit, but the book of focus is A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon. It's one of my favorites! I hope that this unit is what some of you had in mind when you asked for more units . Please let me know what you think.

Well, I think I have rambled enough! I am going to go back to watching the SEC tournament game. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my CATS will pull off another win and be the SEC champs! And with a little luck, maybe National Champs too! :) GO CATS!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
