3rd Grade Reading Interactive Notebook

Hot off the press, 3rd grade teacher friends....I finally have the 3rd grade version of my Reading Interactive Notebook completed.  Here is a peek of what's inside.

This file contains at least one page to address each reading standard.  There is an "I Can" statement for each standard to glue into the notebook as well.  Also, I have included photos of every page in my notebook so you know exactly what my version looks like and how to assemble the each page.

5th Grade Reading Interactive Notebook is COMPLETE!!!

I know many of you wanted to know when the 5th grade Reading Interactive Notebook would be ready.  I am HAPPY to say that I completed it this weekend and it is available in my TpT and TN stores.

Here is a preview of the notebook:

This notebook features at least one page for every Reading standard of the Common Core, including the literature, informational, and foundation skills standards.  Each page has a title, the standard, and an "I Can" statement.  Then each page has a visual and concepts to help aid the student break down each standard.  This notebook will be an AWESOME resource for your kids to use as an "anchor" for year long learning.  

Third grade friends, I am working on the reading notebook for your grade level now.  I HOPE to have it finished in a few days.  :)

4th Grade Reading Interactive Notebooks

I have been working since school has been out on this latest product.  I have many hours invested in this notebook SO I am relieved EXCITED to finally have it completed and ready to for you to see.

I have used interactive notebooks for several years, but I finally decided to take each of the reading standards and to create a page to address each standard.  At this time, I only have the reading standards completed (literature, informational, and foundation skills).

Here are some of the pages and what it looks like.

You will see that each page had a title, the standard covered, and an I CAN statement for the standard.  The page also includes some kind of visual to connect the learning and sentence stems to help the students if they are using this notebook as a resource when they are completing individual tasks pertaining to the standard.  Here are some sample pages.  

All your students will need a composition notebook, markers, crayons, and/or colored pencils, and copies of the printables included in this file.

What's not to love about interactive notebooks?  It gives students an "anchor" of learning and can serve as a resource all year long.  Not to mention the students are incredibly proud of the final product at the end of the year.  It's amazing to see all the learning that has taken place throughout the year.

Teachers Notebook Relief Efforts

New Greek Mythology Materials

Before Spring Break, I completed my Greek Mythology unit with my kiddos.  I created this unit last year and I know that many of you have it.  Many thanks for your purchases!  :)

I remembered last year when I was implementing this unit, I struggled to find myths to use with my fourth graders.  Have you read some of those myths?  They are really "racy" so to speak for a fourth grader.  

Anyway, this year, I decided to write my own myths to use in my classroom.  So that is what I have done and I have it in a format that I can share with you.  Yes, I have a new Greek mythology unit available in my store.  This unit includes eleven myths that I have retold in a more kid-friendly version. These versions are very similar to the original, they are just rated G instead of R.  LOL!  Although, this unit was designed to compliment my already existing unit, it could be a stand alone unit because I did create some activities that are common core aligned for grades 3-5 to accompany the stories.

I have a PowerPoint that I used when I taught the story The Golden Touch.  It includes the key common core vocab that I wanted to the students to learn.  Also, it includes and exit slip.  Because I made the PowerPoint to protect the graphics I used, I am not sure the link works.  Here is the commercial that I used for the exit slip so that students would understand the allusion "the Midas touch."  Click here.
