Scholastic's Teacher Express Dollar Days Sale

I was SUPER excited this morning when I woke up and had received an email that Scholastic was having their Dollar Days Sale this week.  I immediately loaded my cart with some great materials...some of which are directly aligned with the new Common Core Standards.  Here are some of the great finds I purchased.  :)

Teachers Notebook Relief Efforts

New Greek Mythology Materials

Before Spring Break, I completed my Greek Mythology unit with my kiddos.  I created this unit last year and I know that many of you have it.  Many thanks for your purchases!  :)

I remembered last year when I was implementing this unit, I struggled to find myths to use with my fourth graders.  Have you read some of those myths?  They are really "racy" so to speak for a fourth grader.  

Anyway, this year, I decided to write my own myths to use in my classroom.  So that is what I have done and I have it in a format that I can share with you.  Yes, I have a new Greek mythology unit available in my store.  This unit includes eleven myths that I have retold in a more kid-friendly version. These versions are very similar to the original, they are just rated G instead of R.  LOL!  Although, this unit was designed to compliment my already existing unit, it could be a stand alone unit because I did create some activities that are common core aligned for grades 3-5 to accompany the stories.

I have a PowerPoint that I used when I taught the story The Golden Touch.  It includes the key common core vocab that I wanted to the students to learn.  Also, it includes and exit slip.  Because I made the PowerPoint to protect the graphics I used, I am not sure the link works.  Here is the commercial that I used for the exit slip so that students would understand the allusion "the Midas touch."  Click here.

The Library Fox

I hope everyone has had a great week!!!!  The weather is beautiful this weekend, so I am having a difficult time sitting at the computer.  It is above 70 degrees and the sun is shining.  I am so ready for spring.

Happy March to You and a Freebie

OMG!!!  How in the world did I let a month go by without blogging?  I am not even sure if there are still people reading my blog at this point.  I have seriously neglected it.

I do have some exciting news!  My husband and I have adopted a new puppy.  His name is Bocephus (Bo).  He is an English mastiff.  He has definitely consumed a lot of our time during the last couple of weeks.  He turned eight weeks old yesterday and boy is he getting BIG!!!  Here is a picture of my sweet baby, but I will tell you, he is already a lot bigger!  If you know anything about mastiffs, you know they are BIG dogs!  We are excited about that!  I can't wait to have a dog that weighs over 200 lbs.  I love this big baby already! :)

Other excited news....the librarian at my school is SUPER talented!  If you need something made, created, drawn, etc., she is the "go-to" person.  Well, after slightly twisting her arm, I talked her into creating clipart to sell.  She has made all kinds of fonts, lettering, and clipart to sell.  I would love for you to check out her cutie patootie store.  She has even created a font just for me named Nicole's Dots. Click on the picture below to check out Crystal- the Libraryfox's graphics and fonts.  I promise you will love them!!!!
